The Rock Cast As Michael Myers In Michael Bay’s Halloween

Halloween is set for another reboot as Platinum Dunes is set to restart the franchise with a whole new, bombastic beginning. Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Michael Myers, this new Halloween is going to go some places we’ve never seen before.

Aiming for a PG-13 rating, “The Shape” will now be the alter-ego of Michael Myers, as he puts on his mask to stalk his victims, in this explosive action/horror. Megan Fox’s Laurie Strode will only have a small part in this film, as she is killed in the same accident that scars Michael enough that he feels forced to put on a bleached William Shatner mask.

If you’re expecting the usual, quiet Myers, however, you’ve got another thing coming. The Rock is set to have quite a few quips as he takes out his enemies, harkening back to the action heroes of old. Don’t worry too much about him feeling like a hero, however, as the emotional arch of the character will rest upon him trying to wrestle with the fact that he wants to kill everyone… but can’t.

This new Halloween entry looks to have quite a sense of humor, as well, with Anthony Anderson set to play Chuck, Michael’s childhood friend that’s checking up on him years after the incident that made him the man he is now.

Boasting a soundtrack by Linkin Park, this Halloween will cost $257 Million to make and will be 3.7 hours long. “Halloween: The Night He Came Home And Blew It Up” is expected to hit theaters in 2018.
